The Lambda Tau Chapter was installed at the University of South Florida by Dr. James Chambers in 1968. We at Lambda Tau are truly fortunate to have Dr. Chambers still involved with our chapter, He has given us a true sense of the history of Lambda Tau. Dr. Chambers remained as chapter counselor until his retirement in 1980. Dr. Gerald Barkholz became the second counselor and remained counselor until 1999. Dr. Mary Lou Morton joined the faculty of U S F, and became the third counselor. Our chapter is almost thirty-five years old, and we remain firm to our mission and goals. Within our organization we promote excellence in education through the professional development of undergraduate and graduate members. We extend our goals of promoting excellence in education to the educational community, primarily the U S F Charter School. The charter school serves children from the U S F community pre-K - grade three. Lambda Tau members are dedicated to achieving our goals, This is evidenced by the many programs we support and the hours of volunteer work that are performed in behalf of education. |
